Cowal Championship (August 28, 2010)

Ballycoan concluded the 2010 competition season in Dunoon, Scotland at the Cowal Championship, finishing in 12th place in Grade One. The band would like to thank everyone for their support this year, our 75th Anniversary Year.

North West Championship (August 21, 2010)

The band finished in second place out of three bands at the last competition in Northern Ireland for the 2010 season. Ballycoan travels next to Dunoon, Scotland for the final major and competition of the season.

Ballycoan at the Worlds (August 14, 2010)

Ballycoan traveled to Glasgow, Scotland to compete in the 2010 World Pipe Band Championship. The band finished in 10th place in the morning qualifier, failing to qualify for the final. Ballycoan will be competing next at the North West Championship in Portrush, Northern Ireland.

Watch Ballycoan Live at The Worlds (August 10, 2010)

For the second year in a row, the BBC will be streaming live coverage of the 2010 World Pipe Band Championship. The competition will commence at 09:00am BST on the 14th of August in Glasgow, Scotland, and you can watch the entire event through the BBC website. Ballycoan are scheduled to perform in the morning qualifier at 10:48am BST. The official announcement for the six bands advancing to the Worlds final will be roughly at 12:00pm BST.

Ballycoan Third at Ulsters, Celebrates 75 years (August 7, 2010)

The band finished in third place at this years Ulster Championship held in Lisburn on Saturday. In the combined MSR/Medley events, the bands pipe corp finished second overall behind FMM. After the competition, Ballycoan threw an informal reception at The Cardan in Lisburn city centre in honour of its 75th Anniversary. The band would like to thank all BPB members, friends and supporters for joining in the celebration. Ballycoan now prepares for the highlight of the pipe band calendar, the World Pipe Band Championship in Glasgow, Scotland on 14th August.

European Championship (July 31, 2010)

Ballycoan competed this past weekend at the third major of the 2010 season at Stormont in Belfast. The band played its number two MSR, Lord Alexander Kennedy, Tulloch Castle, MacAllister's Dirk, placing 9th overall in Grade One. Ballycoan will be competing next at the Ulster Championship in Lisburn on 7th August.

Runners Up at Heart of Down (July 24, 2010)

Ballycoan finished in 2nd place at the Heart of Down Championship held in Newcastle. The band did walk away with Best Bass, March & Deportment and were tied for Best Pipes. Watch the band next at Stormont in Belfast for the third Major of the season, the European Championship on the 31st of July.

All Ireland Championship (July 3, 2010)

Ballycoan finished in 3rd place at this years All Ireland's competition held in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. The band put on two solid performances in the MSR/Medley contest, also winning March & Deportment. Ballycoans next appearance will be at the Heart of Down Competition in Newcastle on the 24th of July.

British Championship (June 26, 2010)

The band traveled to Annan, Scotland to compete at the British Championship on Saturday. In a field of 14 bands, Ballycoan finished 11th in the MSR contest. Both Ballycoan Drum Majors, Paula Braiden and Stephen Gilchrist, won the Adult and Juvenile Drum Major titles respectively. The band will be competing next at the All Ireland Championship in Ballina, County Mayo.

County Down Championship (June 19, 2010)

Ballycoan took part in the County Down Championship in Bangor this Saturday in rather warm conditions. The contest included both MSR and Medley, with the band placing second overall in grade one. The band also won March & Deportment for the day. Ballycoan will be heading next to Annan, Scotland for the second major of the year, the British Championship.

Ballycoan in Cookstown (June 12, 2010)

The band competed in the first MSR contest of the season. Ballycoan placed third playing its number one set, Clan MacRae Society, Susan MacLeod & John MacKechnie. The band will be in Bangor next week for the County Down Championship.

Scottish Championship (May 22, 2010)

Ballycoan traveled to Dumbarton, Scotland this past weekend to compete in the first major of the season. In a field of 14 grade one bands, Ballycoan placed 10th overall, playing its number two medley for the first time. The bands next appearance will be the contest in Cookstown on the 12th of June.
